Kerfing Plane Kit for Sargent No 1080 Combination Plane

Following the resounding success of the kerfing plane kit for the Stanley No 45, a kit is now available for the Sargent No 1080 combination plane. It will also work on the Craftsman 3728 combination plane that was sold by Sears & Roebuck.

The kit will convert the Sargent No 1080 into a kerfing plane used to prepare lumber for resawing with a rip handsaw. A shallow kerf cut into all four sides of the board will encourage the saw to follow the cut without the need to constantly check on the whereabouts of the saw blade, drastically improving the quality of the cut, while reducing sawing time and effort.

No modifications are required to use this kit. Full instructions with photographs are included to guide installation.

There may be some minor blemishes on the surface of the blade that occurred during the manufacturing and machining processes. This will not hinder its function in any way.

Note: this purchase is for the kerfing plane kit only. A plane is not included. You must provide that.
