Disston D-8 Thumbhole Rip Saw 5 1/2ppi -- Freshly Sharpened

This Disston D-8 Thumbhole rip saw was made in the late 1940s as indicated by the change to beech for the handle and steel screws instead of the traditional brass fasteners. It is still a great performer, despite the change in materials. The handle has some abrasions, but no cracks or chips. The 26 inch long plate is straight with a bold etch and is clean, except for a few stained areas.

The 5 1/2ppi rip teeth have been freshly sharpened:
