Vintage HSB Revonoc No 7 Corrugated Jointer Plane -- HEAVY Iron
Believed to have been made by Stanley, this "Revonoc" jointer was sold by Hibbard, Spencer, & Bartlett Hardware of Chicago.
The Japanning is in excellent condition, as are the rosewood handles. One of the cheeks on the body has some regions of very light pitting, though it certainly will not affect function.
The jewel of this plane is the extra thick iron and chip breaker. The photo comparing the HSB iron to a Stanley No 7 iron, makes the Stanley product look like it is as thin as paper. With an iron this large and the adjustability in the frog, it is possible to obtain a super tight mouth if desired. The proof is in actual use. Look at the beautiful shavings of curly cherry.
