Vintage Bringhurst & Co. Table Saw -- Early Philadelpha Sawmaker
John Henry Bringhurst was born in Philadelphia in 1812 and started making saws in 1842 at the age of 30. He had various partners throughout the next 30 years, finally selling his firm in 1865.
This fine table saw is in original condition. It has not been cleaned in any way. The blade is straight. The teeth have not been sharpened, though they are in good condition. It could be sharpened if the new owner so wishes. The handle is in good condition with no cracks or major chips. The split nuts appear to have been tightened at some time in the past.
This is an excellent example from a hard-to-find Philadelphia sawmaker.
