R. Groves & Sons 24 Inch Rip Saw 5 1/2ppi -- Freshly Sharpened
Regular price $115.00
This is a nice example of a Richard Groves & Sons rip saw, made about 1880. The 24 inch long blade is clean with some staining. The Groves stamp is bold, displaying three crowns above the legend "Double Refined Spring Steel".
The handle is in good condition. The top horn has some chipping, though it does not affect function or comfort. The split nuts have never been removed. A previous owner "B.O. Gross" was so proud of his saw that he boldly marked both sides of the handle with his name.
The 5 1/2 ppi rip teeth have been freshly sharpened:
Tooth Type: crosscut
