Geo H Bishop Wuest Patent Duplex Saw -- Freshly Sharpened
Here is a nice example of duplex saw patented by Frederick Wuest in 1898. The handle on this particular saw is marked "Patent Applied For" so it likely was produced early in 1898.
The novelty of this saw is that one side of the blade is sharpened as a rip saw, while the other side is filed crosscut. The lever on the handle allows the blade to be flipped over easily to match the cutting task.
The teeth have been freshly sharpened.
