Early Samuel Newbould Hand Saw -- London Pattern Handle Circa 1800
Samuel Newbould started making saws in Sheffield as early as 1787 and continued until the end of the 19th century when the company changed hands and became Sanderson & Newbould.
The stamp on the blade on this particular is similar to one used around 1800, according to Simon Barley's book British Saws & Saw Makers from c1660.
This saw has not been cleaned or sharpened. There are condition issues, but it is a fine example considering its 220 year age.
