Disston No 4 Backsaw 12ppi Crosscut 1888 Medallion ERROR -- Freshly Sharpened
This is an exquisite example from Disston's finest period of sawmaking, 1888 to 1896. The blade and spine are clean and smooth. The apple handle is nearly flawless.
At 14 inches long, this Disston No 4 is perfect for cutting the shoulders on tenons and for other crosscutting tasks. The 12ppi crosscut teeth have been freshly sharpened with smoothly aggressive teeth.
Look closely at the medallion to see if you can spot the error. While not rare, these mis-struck medallions are not often found anymore.
