Following in the popularity of Bishop's patented duplex saw, Disston came up with their own design which was patented in 1914. Essentially two saws in one, it provided versatility without having to purchase two saws. One side has 12 ppi crosscut teeth, while the other side has 9 ppi rip teeth. The adjustable spine could serve as a depth stop.

This example is clean, with a bold etch. The spine is marked with the patent date of January 27, 1914. The wheat-carved handle is in excellent condition.
