Disston Acme 120 No-Set Crosscut 8ppi -- Freshly Sharpened
The pinnacle of the Disston saw lineup was the Acme 120. It was designed with a highly tapered plate to allow it to run without set on the teeth, thereby reducing drag and improving the quality of the cut. They were intended for use mainly on dry hardwoods.
This saw was made in the 1896-1917 timeframe. The blade is clean and straight. It has some light patina, but no major pitting. The etch has disappeared, unfortunately. The handle is solid, with some scratches and wear, but has no cracks or chips.
The teeth have been freshly sharpened with the tooth profile unique to the Acme:
Rake Angle: 30º
Fleam Angle: 30º
Slope Angle: 30º
Tooth Set: No Set
