J. Fearnehough & Sons Tapered Backsaw Sheffield -- Freshly Sharpened
Joseph Fearnehough and his sons, Joseph Jr. and Thomas, made saws at the Wicker Lane address in Sheffield, England from 1828 to 1841. The company began in 1821 and was in business until about 1972.
This fine example is clean and straight. The beautiful beech handle has some wear and a chip in the top horn, but is otherwise solid and quite comfortable. The 13ppi rip teeth on the 12 inch long tapered plate have been freshly set and sharpened, so it is ready for use.
