Here is a nice Stanley No 5 1/4 Type 18 smoothing plane made in the 1946-1947 timeframe. It has a heavy cast body indicative of this manufacturing period. The rosewood handle has been repaired sometime in the past. The knob is in excellent condition. The body is in excellent condition also, as is the original Japanning.
