If you can get past the modernistic beech handle, you will find a high performance cutting machine. As with most saws made of Swedish steel, the metal in this Orsa hand saw is particularly fine-grained and takes a very keen edge.
The blade is clean and smooth, with just a bit of "frosting" in a few spots from storage. The teeth have been freshly sharpened and are sticky sharp. It made short work of the board during a test cut.
The "etch" on these saws is only inked on the surface and, unfortunately, was lost during polishing.
