Fresh from the UK, this Eclipse No 77 saw set has seen very little use. The bronze body shows only light abrasion where it touched saw teeth. This model has a narrowed hammer, which will work for saws up to 16 ppi. While some have been modified by an owner, this one appears to have been done at the factory. It was disassembled for cleaning and lubrication, but it otherwise in as-found condition.
Interestingly, they have the same double plunger and hammer mechanism as the Stanley 42X. They are, in fact, identical and interchangeable (No, I don't know why.) This model has an advantage over the 42X in that it has a lower profile and can set teeth that are close to the handle.
